I absolutely loved this project. I've never formally completed a project using a drawing tablet, and as someone who is not a trained drawer (yet, their maybe a new venture for a BFA in Fine Art in the process). I originally had a slow motion skier from the X Games which I thought would be easy, however after four days of working on it, I knew I had to scrap and find something I could make for a solid portfolio piece. I went to looking for dance pieces, as an artist I'm extremely interested in the body. In more of my multimedia and video art, as well as writings, I'm interested in the gendering of bodies in relation to sexuality, culture, and spirituality. So, one of my favorite choreographers is Travis Wall, he was the runner up the of the second season of FOX's So You Think You Can Dance, and known for his advocacy for the queer community. This was from a piece he choreographed for Shoshana Bean's cover of This Is Me from The Greatest Showman (2017).

Project 1: Anticipation

For this assignment I wanted to be sure to use two different scenes to practice swapping out props and using my tools such as LightRoom to be sure I was ready to move on to the second scene and that the first was what I wanted.  I started with a similar scene set up as my last assignment with the pond outside, but I knew I could be more dynamic than just a bounce. While there is squash and stretch in the beginning the primary principle I wanted to focus on was anticipation when my character sees the shark. As an artist working in multiple mediums I knew that while facial expressions and timing had a large impact on anticipation so does sound. I spent a lot of time sorting through sound clips to choose the right ones that would really over emphasize the principle of anticipation.
